Q & A
-Do you stock a sulphate free hair and skin care range?
-Yes, we stock John Masters skin and hair care is not only Sulphate, paraben, petro-chemical and artificial fragrance free, but uses all organic ingredients (and is based around aromatherapy so it smells divine)
-Recently concerns have been raised following press articles suggesting a link between permanent hair colours and some forms of cancer, are your permanent colours safe?
-Our permanent colour range by Herbe appears to be the safest of the permanent tints as the absence of ammonia results in little or no penetration of the epidermis (skin) visual proof of this is less visible staining of the skin. We will always carry out a patch test prior to any colour treatment for the clients and the stylist’s peace of mind.
-I have always found ammonia based permanent colours to create a block of colour which tends to look dull and lifeless, how do your colours look?
-Our permanent and semi permanent give beautifully natural multi-tonal results due to lack of ammonia and high levels of peroxide.
-I have resistant grey hair, will your colours cover it?
-Yes our colours will not only cover resistant grey but do it in a natural way
-I am pregnant and intend to breast feed, are your colours safe during this time?
-Health care professionals will generally advise against any colouring during pregnancy or breast feeding, however, our colours are the most gentle that we can find on the market, so if you choose to colour your hair we wouldn’t recommend anything else.
-I have just finished a course of chemotherapy, can I colour my hair with your products?
-Always consult with your doctor first , generally it’s recommended you wait 3 months before you start colouring the hair after chemotherapy, some pharmaceuticals may hamper the effectiveness of the colours.
-Do your colours contain peroxide?
-Yes our permanent and semi permanent range does, but in very low strengths, Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) is totally natural and is mixed with permanent tints in order to oxidise the colour pigments. During the colouring process the H2O2 breaks down into water and oxygen, with the oxygen expanding the colour pigments thus trapping them inside the hair.
